KUALA LUMPUR: The band behind the chart-topping hit Sweet Disposition, is set to make its return to Malaysian shores on March 9. The Temper Trap which is made up of Dougy Mandagi on vocals, Jonathan Aherne on bass, Toby Dundas on drums and Joseph Greer on keyboards and guitar will be performing at The Bee, Publika. The event is jointly organised by Upfront @ The Bee and ADSC, a subdivision of The Livescape Group and supported by U Mobile and Tiger Beer.
Having performed at Future Music Festival Asia back in 2013 with over 8,000 fans crowding their stage, and then at Good Vibes Festival last year, The Temper Trap has since released its third studio album, Thick as Thieves in June 2016. The multi-award winning band had previously also won Album of the Year, Single of the year, and Best Rock Album at various Aria Music Awards.
The Temper Trap first rose to local acclaim in Melbourne, Australia in 2006 with the release of their debut EP. Their 2009 debut album Conditions, propelled by the hit anthem ‘Sweet Disposition’, was a huge success and sold nearly a million copies worldwide. Two years later, the band delivered the self-titled album, which featured the singles ‘Trembling Hands’ and ‘Need Your Love’ which was certified platinum.
More than a million albums sold; more than 150 million streams on Spotify; arena support tours with Coldplay and the Rolling Stones; gracing the stages of Glastonbury, Lollapalooza and Coachella; being nominated and winning a number of prestigious ARIA Awards in Australia, as well as receiving a nomination for best international group at the BRIT Awards. It has been a good few years for The Temper Trap.
The Temper Trap Live in Kuala Lumpur is an 18 years-old and above event and is organized by Upfront @ The Bee in collaboration with ADSC, a subdivision of The Livescape Group and supported by U Mobile and Tiger Beer. Tickets, priced at RM148 (limited pre-sale) and RM168 (regular) are available for purchase from today onwards at www.galactix.asia or at The Bee outlets in both Jaya One and Publika. Ticket prices excludes ticketing fee and 6% GST.
The event also marks a celebration for The Bee at Publika as it reopens its doors following its recent refurbishment. Replete with an upgraded stage for performances, state of the art sound and lighting system, increased seating for live shows and a revamped outdoor space for cosy dining, the venue now opens to a whole new focus on international, regional and local live music and alternative DJ nights.

About The Bee
The Bee is about much more than its menu; it’s a space where communities congregate, converse, and create. The Bee at Publika is home to its Upfront series which aim to showcase leftfield international artists in a small and cosy club setting and have hosted sell-out shows from The Vaccines, Grimes to Hiatus Kaiyote.
With The Bee Publika’s upcoming February 2017 relaunch, The Bee will introduce new resident nights to remain true to its reputation as one of the region’s go-to live music venues. The Bee will continue to champion and collaborate with the best of local artists and music collectives — such as Raising The Bar and Soundscape Records — to host parties and gigs that guarantee an adventurous night out.
Befitting new beginnings, The Bee at Publika will shed its former neighbourhood cafe ambience to reveal CBGB dive bar-esque aesthetics; complete with increased capacity for live shows and an upgraded stage, sound and lights system along with a revamped al fresco dining and entertaining area.
Since 2010, The Bee has supported a coterie of multi-arts, multi-cultural movers, shakers and doers: it has hosted disco-themed barbecues, dining theatre, and divination readings; and is the site for side-splitting comedy revues and spirited quiz nights. The Bee at Jaya One has hosted the long-running Feedback open mic nights since December 2011.
